THE EDUCATION CENTER

"Beth Hatefutsoth's programs have aimed at confronting the visitors with different viewpoints, spanning the whole Jewish ideological and philosophical spectrum ... At the same time, its educational efforts have always been marked by tolerance and by a humanistic attitude to the problems of Jewish life and history."

Yeshayahu Weinberg, Founding Director of Beth Hatefutsoth

Hebrew Language Educational Programs for Groups of Schoolchildren

The Education Center of Beth Hatefutsoth is proud to announce that its Hebrew language educational programs for groups of schoolchildren can be now perused and ordered online. They include programs for elementary schools, middle schools and high schools. Each year these highly successful programs are attended by many tens of thousands of schoolchildren from schools and other educational institutions located all over Israel and abroad. To ensure a convenient date for your schoolchildren's visit to our museum, we highly suggest you to book your program of choice as soon as possible. The staff of museum’s Reservation and Information Center will happily assist you with all necessary information. Please do not hesitate to contact us.

Training Courses for Teachers

During the 2005-2006 season Beth Hatefutsoth will again offer training courses for teachers. Details of the courses, which are also open to the general public , are now available online. To guarantee you a place in your preferred course, we warmly advise you to register as soon as possible.

Are we really one?
is a new experiential program developed by Beth Hatefutsoth's Education Center specifically for youth visiting Israel for the first time as part of the Birthright Program. To date, 3,000 out of the 5,000 Birthright youth in Israel have begun to examine the multi-cultural expressions among the Jewish people and the mosaic of the many different people they will encounter in Israel. The Museum visit opened the students' minds and hearts to continue their quest for shaping and sharing our belonging to one people, across the oceans and divides.

The Information and Reservation Center provides information about the different educational programs and the variety of guided tours available for children, youngsters, adults and families. For further information about the Education Center's activities and programs, and to order your guided tour, please contact the Information and Reservation Center.

The Education Center of Beth Hatefutsoth is proud to present "ROOTS AND ME", a new concept in Jewish Education, designed for the home, the youth group, the family and the classroom.
"ROOTS AND ME" was developed by the staff of the Museum's Education Center and enables Jewish youngsters to learn more about their family history, their community and to discover their place amongst the Jewish people. The project includes the booklet "r u rachel?", which serves as trigger for people to open the special website, designed as a virtual club containing various interactive activities.

Some time ago, an Educator's Guide "r u a teacher?" and a special website for educators were introduced. The Guide and the website include ideas about how to use "ROOTS AND ME", and the intention is to constantly introduce new ideas by Jewish educators from all over the world.

People wanting more information about "ROOTS AND ME" may contact Mr. Marc Kurs, Project Director, at bhsemarc@post.tau.ac.il.
