The interactive multimedia database of Jewish
communities in Lithuania covers the history of 250 communities. The
information is given in two languages: Hebrew and English. The database
can be accessed in a number of ways: by searching for a community with the
help of interactive maps or lists of communities, by searching for
descriptions of synagogues, and by browsing through the biographies of
famous Jewish personalities who either were born in Lithuania or activated
in that country. To enable fast detection, the names of the communities
are given in five languages: Hebrew and English - corresponding with the
general Database of Jewish
Communities of Beth Hatefutsoth, Lithuanian, Yiddish, and Russian in
Latin transliteration.
