The Prof. Yitzhak Halbrecht Family Tree Competition for the year 1999/2000

Over 20,000 students from 15 countries worldwide participated in this year's competition.

432 outstanding projects were sent from schools in Israel and around the world to Beth Hatefutsoth for the final stage of the competition. 27 of those were chosen for the final judging. Every student whose work made it to the final stage of the competition was presented with a personalized Certificate of Appreciation from Beth Hatefutsoth.

The awards ceremony for the winners took place on June 6, 2000, at Beth Hatefutsoth. The ceremony was attended by Rabbi Michael Melchior, Minister of Israeli Society and the World Jewish Community, Mr. Ron Huldai, Mayor of Tel Aviv-Yafo and Mr. Sami Shamoon, Chairman of the Prof. Yitzhak Halbrecht Fund. Guest of Honor of the evening was Prof. Yitzhak Halbrecht.
