The 24th International Conference on Jewish Genealogy
Beth Hatefutsoth was present at the 24th International
Conference on Jewish Genealogy that was held in Jerusalem July 4 - 9, 2004.
The desk of the museum was located in the Resource Room of the conference and
operated for the entire duration of the conference. It proved to be very popular
with the conference participants and was visited by many of them who sought
advice about Jewish genealogy related subjects and the ways Beth Hatefutsoth can
help them in their research.

The database of the Douglas E. Goldman Jewish Genealogy
Center was available free of charge for searches and indeed some 200
participants took this opportunity and conducted searches for their relatives.
Beth Hatefutsoth also contributed to the video room of the conference with a
selection of films from its collection: Three Communities, Wedding in Romania,
The Last Ghetto, Lubomi and My Heart Remembers.
The participants heard more details about the Jewish
Genealogy Resources at Beth Hatefutsoth in a lecture that presented, both in
English and Hebrew, the digital databases of the museum and especially that of
the Douglas E. Goldman Jewish Genealogy Center.
