Over 12,000 students from 5 countries worldwide participated in this year's competition. 157 projects from Israel and abroad reached the final stage of the competition and of these 38 were chosen for the final judging. Every student whose work made it to the final stage of the competition was presented with a personal Certificate of Appreciation from Beth Hatefutsoth.

The Judging Panel comprised representatives from the Israeli Ministry of Education, the Constantiner Family School of Education of Tel Aviv University, the Douglas E. Goldman Jewish Genealogy Center at Beth Hatefutsoth, the Bernhard H. and Miriam Oster Visual Documentation Center of Beth Hatefutsoth, and the Education Center of Beth Hatefutsoth.

The prize-giving ceremony took place on June 22nd at Beth Hatefutsoth. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Yitzhak Hazut, the personal representative of Mr. Sami Shamoon, Mrs. Ilana Ben Ami, Vice President of Tel Aviv University, Prof. Malka Margalit, Head of the Constantiner Family School of Education of Tel Aviv University, Mrs. Ariella Israeli, Tel Aviv Region Chief Inspector of the Department of Secondary Education at the Israeli Ministry of Education, Mr. Ranny Finzi, Director-General of Beth Hatefutsoth, Mr. Zvi Halbrecht, representatives from the Israeli Education Ministry, educators, students, members of the families, and guests.

All family trees submitted by the students have been added to the database of the Douglas E. Goldman Jewish Genealogy Center at Beth Hatefutsoth and will be preserved for future generations.
