More than 15,000 students from 58 schools in Argentina, Israel, Mexico. South-Africa, Spain and Venezuela participated in the eleventh annual My Family's Story International Competition. More than 350 projects reached the final stage of the competition and of these 30 were chosen for the final judging. A personal Certificate of Excellence from Beth Hatefutsoth was granted to every student whose work made it to the final stage of the competition.

The Panel of Judges consisted of representatives of the Israel Ministry of Education, the Constantiner Family School of Education of Tel Aviv University, the Douglas E. Goldman Jewish Genealogy Center at Beth Hatefutsoth, the Bernhard H. and Miriam Oster Visual Documentation Center of Beth Hatefutsoth, the Education Center of Beth Hatefutsoth, and other public representatives.

The prize-giving ceremony took place on June 18th 2007 at Beth Hatefutsoth. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Rachel Friedman, vice president of Keren Hayesod Argentina, Mr. Federico Salas, Ambassador of Mexico to Israel, Prof. Yuval Dror of the Constantiner Family School of Education of Tel Aviv University, Ms. Hasia Israeli, Director of Beth Hatefutsoth, representatives from the Israeli Education Ministry, educators, students, members of the families, and guests.
Mr. Uriel Macias of the leadership of the Jewish community in Madrid, participated in the ceremony, and told the large audience about the enthusiasm of the participants in the project (including his daughter Yael), and said that the competition improved bonds between the families, and between the community and Israel.
The evening included a performance of the singer Dorit Reuveni.
