Why Genealogy?
Were your ancestors illustrious rabbis or itinerant peddlers? Or
both? Did they escape pogroms in Kiev or Kishinev or live in the Jewish Quarter
in Casablanca? Did they arrive in America with the Mayflower or did they settle
in Cuba or Venezuela?
What will your great-grandchildren know about you or their other
ancestors?
Not much…unless you record this information at the Douglas E.
Goldman Jewish Genealogy Center, where you can provide your future generations
with a priceless legacy – their roots.
Throughout history, Jewish families migrated from place to
place, very often leaving behind family heirlooms and memorabilia. They took
with them only the memory of their loved ones: parents, brothers and sisters,
grandparents, aunts and uncles. Unfortunately, they rarely wrote it down.
Today you can record information on your own family to ensure
the preservation of this vital information for generations to come.
Once your family tree is registered at Beth Hatefutsoth’s Douglas E. Goldman
Jewish Genealogy Center, you may discover unknown, exciting family ties with
other registered trees or with other families around the world.
