Through the Looking Glass

Personalize your experience at Beth Hatefutsoth by taking part in a program that turns the museum “on its head”. It invites the participant to embark on a journey through time starting with “me” and “today”. The connection to history unfolds in the museum through “me”, affording the opportunity to personalize the insight into the experiences of past generations, realizing that “this is my story and the story of my people.”
The program includes:

  • Guided tour of the Museum
  • Historic portrayals by actors in period costume
  • Search through the museum’s databases of family names and history of Jewish communities
  • Target audience: Groups of teenagers (14 - 16 years old)

The program is available in English and Spanish
Duration: 3 hours

Israel-Diaspora Relations

The program will examine the historic relations between Jewish communities in the Diaspora and Israel in order to delve into today’s realities and search for common ground to build a proper, healthy, and mutually productive relationship between the Diaspora and Israel.
The program includes:

  • Movies dealing with Israel-Diaspora issue

Dilemmas of the Jewish People

A presentation of the dilemmas of the Jewish people in the Diaspora throughout history and an examination of how the different communities and their leadership reacted to them. Among the issues dealt with: the amount of interaction between the Jewish culture and that of host culture, choosing between different expressions of Jewish life, responses to physical threats against the Jewish State.
The program includes:

  • Screening of the movie "Zionism - here and now"
