Angelo Donati
(1885-1960), Resistance activist.

Born into a leading Modena family, in Italy, he settled in Paris after World War I. During the German occupation in World War II he found refuge in Italian-occupied France where, working with a Catholic priest, he was instrumental in rescuing Jews. Through his negotiations after the fall of Mussolini thousands of Jews were saved. Donati himself escaped to Switzerland from where he continued his rescue work. He died in Paris.
