The school was established in the Jewish quarter in 1944, and in addition to Jewish studies, lessons were conducted according to the program of the Syrian Ministry of Education. In 1992 there were 70 pupils in the school. It is still open today, although it has almost no pupils and its future existence is in doubt, as few Jewish children are left in Syria.
