Micha Bar-Am, In the El Ghriba synagogue, Djerba, Tunisia 1995

The hillula (festivity) of R. Shimon Bar Yohai (Rashbi) is held once every year, on Lag ba'Omer on the island of Djerba. The venerated Rashbi menorah is taken out of the El Ghriba synagogue and brought to the inn next door. Celebrants begin to gather from very early in the morning, and by noon a parade of worshippers follows the menorah to Hara Zighira (the small quarter), where it is left for the night in one of the synagogues. The following morning the menorah is brought back to the El Ghriba, where the hillula continues for another day.
