Blue and White in Color
What is the color of our future?
Beit Hatfutsot is offering an adventurous and unique summer activity for families, youth and the general public. The main exhibition gallery has been turned into a large working studio that brings together visitors from all backgrounds, painting side by side and creating together a shared art piece.
Max Levi Frieder, a community public artist, is leading the participants in a joint effort painting a multi stages huge mural. On canvas, the participants can express their personal views of the future for the Jewish people.
Frieder is leading a new worldwide community art concept he coined “Artolution” (http://www.artolution.org/), in which the public creates its own art for its own community.
The participants will receive all the necessary materials; brushes and paints from the Museum, courtesy of a generous donation by Israel’s largest paint manufacturer, “Tambour”. Visitors will paint the future the way they would like it to be shaped, using creativity and imagination. This activity will allow the participants to express their aspirations, hopes and dreams regarding their private and collective future as a family, society and nation. On a clean canvas, the future will receive both form and color as a first step in achieving this goal. “Blue and White in Color” will allow the visitors, through their creativity, to be part of a unique community. They will paint the future, based on involvement and social responsibility. No previous experience is required!
The huge mural, Blue and White in Color, will be on display at Beit Hatfutsot from August 4th – August 22nd.
