My Family Story Expands in North America
We are proud to invite you and your community to participate in an unforgettable experience. Beit Hatfutsot-Museum of the Jewish People is happy to announce that registration is now open for its 2013 flagship program and competition, My Family Story.
A new initiative: PELIE, the Partnership for Effective Learning and Innovative Education, is sponsoring the launch of this program in selected complementary settings in the United States . With PELIE's outreach and generous support, we look forward to many more communities participating this year.
Since 1995, Beit Hatfutsot, the Museum of the Jewish People, has hosted the My Family Story program, which gives students from 5th-8th grade the opportunity to research their family roots, identify their personal stories with the ongoing story of the Jewish people, and to portray this in a unique artistic display. Outstanding projects are entered into the My Family Story competition held at Beit Hatfutsot in June, and finalists are flown as guests of the Museum to the opening of My Family Story in Israel.

This year, participants will have the added benefit of our newly launched My Family Story curriculum which gives a structure and educational framework to the program. This curriculum has been developed by our team of educators at the International School for Jewish Peoplehood Studies, which is dedicated to using Beit Hatfutsot as a platform for enhancing Jewish Peoplehood. We also are happy to introduce the leading comic chararacters in our My Family Story curriculum: Ilan and Ruth. Our new website, www.myfamilystory.co.il, offers leaders and participants an opportunity to join worldwide conversations and forums surrounding My Family Story and Jewish identity in general. Check out a sample of the curriculum here.
