Beth Hatefutsoth Board of Governors Assembly

The International Board of Governors of Beth Hatefutsoth held its fourth annual meeting at the museum on June 25. Governors discussed plans for development and construction of the Museum of the Jewish People, slated to replace the current core exhibition. The exhibition will take a new approach, telling the unique and ongoing story of the Jewish People beginning from the days of Abraham and Sarah through today, ending with an open discussion and reflection on the place of each individual visitor in the ongoing story and on the future of the Jewish People.

Three new governors were also elected: Susan Weikers Balaban of Wynnewood, Pennsylvania; Jeffrey Goldberg of Washington DC; and Gad Zeevi of Haifa. We are pleased to welcome them to the Board of Governors, a governing and advisory body which provides Beth Hatefutosth with important support from around the world.

Following the meeting, the Governors were hosted for a festive cocktail reception and preview of the upcoming exhibition entitled, "Identity Drama in Contemporary Israeli Art," set to open to the general public on July 9, 2009.
