In Memoriam - Edith Teomim z"l

It is with great sorrow that we mourn the passing of a true friend and loyal colleague of Beit Hatfutsot, Ms. Edith Teomim, Director if Israel Friends of Beit Hatfutsot, member of the International Board of Governors, and an honoree of the museum.

Ms. Edith Teomim accompanied Beit Hatfutsot for over 20 years as a dedicated volunteer. She worked tirelessly to promote Beit Hatfutsot as a central Jewish Israeli cultural institution. She was recruited to work on behalf of youth from impoverished families, children with learning disabilities, and new immigrants in order to bring them to Beit Hatfutsot and provide them with the values that the museum has believed in since its inception.

Edith Teomim was also active in the arts and cultural communities in Israel. She worked on behalf of young artists and musicians. She volunteered in institutions for sick and disabled children, and supported educational and cultural institutions. For her contribution to the city of Tel Aviv, she received the 2008 Prize of Tel Aviv Honoree.

Edith Teomim, z”l, is gone, but her activities, dedication, and love for Beit Hatfutsot will be remembered forever.
