Release of a New Musical CD
Arnold Schoenberg and Anton Webern: Chamber Music. ensenble recherche
The production of this new CD, under the supervision of Dr. Yuval Shaked, the past Director of the Feher Jewish Music Center at Beit Hatfutsot, is the result of an international cooperation between Beit Hatfutsot – The Museum of the Jewish People in Israel and Deutschlandradio Kultur, the ensemble recherche, and other institutions in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
This new CD is a continuation of the project that also includes the previously released CD with chamber music by Theodor W. Adorno and Artur Schnabel.
The new CD features four works by Arnold Schoenberg and Anton Webern. The program starts with an early work by Arnold Schoenberg - Ein Stelldichein (1905) and concludes with another early work by Schoenberg - Chamber Symphony No.1 (1906) in the arrangement of Anton Webern. In addition, the new CD includes a world premier recording of the Trio for violin, viola and cello, op.20 (1926/27) by Anton Webern and String Trio, op.45 (1946), a later work by Schoenberg.
All works have been recorded in Germany by members of ensemble recherche of Freiburg, Germany, one of the most distinguished ensembles for contemporary music. This new production includes a CD and a bilingual booklet (English and Hebrew) featuring an introductory essay by Dr. Yuval Shaked and a short presentation of ensemble recherche.
