Renewal, Renewal, Renewal
This summer Beit Hatfutsot embarked on a massive renovation and building project which will culminate with the dedication of the Family Gallery in February 2011. The work, which includes the rebranding of the lobby and renovation of the classrooms in the International School for Jewish Peoplehood Studies, is coming to an end. The first students and IDF soldiers were welcomed back to our state-of-the-art classrooms just a few days ago.
The Family Gallery is designed to showcase hands-on, multi-sensory exhibitions specifically geared towards younger audiences. The Gallery is expected to attract tens of thousands of children and their families to Beit Hatfutsot, ensuring that children, from the youngest ages, are an integral part of our vision and work. A-B-See-Do will be the first exhibition to be shown in the Family Gallery, bringing to life the essence of the Hebrew language, as one of the most important elements linking Jews for thousands of years.
Over the past year, more than 2,000 IDF soldiers and officers and 20,000 youngsters have participated in our innovative education programming. With this number on the rise, the entire education wing at Beit Hatfutsot has been renovated to accommodate this growth. Nine classrooms with state-of-the-art equipment create an optimal learning environment.
Renovations have also been taking place in our lobby, including the museum shop, the memorial and donor boards and the open spaces. Beit Hatfutsot’s new branding now permeates the entrance area, giving our lobby a contemporary updated appeal. The "You Are Part of the Story" display welcomes visitors and communicates our renewed pluralistic, inclusive approach.
