Highlights from BH Israel Friends
The Israel Friends of Beit Hatfutsot is having an extremely active summer. Irit Perlman, Director of the Israel Friends hosted six well-known bloggers from Spain and England in the new A-B-See-Do exhibition that opened in July. They were met by Tamar Hadar and Efrat Adiv, the initiators this interactive children’s exhibition on the Hebrew language. Each visitor has a very popular blog whose content is primarily family-oriented. They were overwhelmed by this new exhibition and promised to recommend it to their readers.
The Israel Friends Association sponsored the visit by a group of children, in the third through fifth grades, from the Dor Cultural Center in Netanya. Primarily new immigrants from Ethiopia, these children participated in the program "Me and My Symbol" organized by the Beit Hatfutsot’s International School for Jewish Peoplehood Studies.
At the opening of the A-B-See-Do Exhibition on July 1st, Beit Hatfutsot dedicated a plaque in memory of Edith Teomin, former Chairperson of the Israel Friends Association, for her life-long commitment to Beit Hatfutsot. The plaque was unveiled in the Beit Hatfutsot’s new Family Gallery in the presence of Mira Ariel, daughter of Edith Teomin, together with her children.
