President of AMIA Argentina Visits BH
Guillermo Borger, the president of the Argentinian Jewish communal umbrella organization AMIA, visited Beit Hatfutsot in early January along with his wife, Gita. Beit Hatfutsot CEO Avinoam Armoni welcomed Mr. and Mrs. Borger, and held a joint meeting between the Borgers and the staff of the International School for Jewish Peoplehood Studies. Mr. Armoni described the educational activities of the museum, presented plans for building the new museum, and invited them to explore avenues for future collaboration. The Borgers also toured the permanent exhibition and viewed the new A-Be-See-Do children’s exhibition. Mr. Borger said that he was “very impressed” by the panoply of activities in the museum.
The visit was initiated by Batia Nemerovsky, Chair of the Educational Committee of AMIA, who is a long-standing liaison for the My Family Story competition in Argentina. Batia facilitates the competition among Jewish schools in Argentina, and thanks to her professional expertise, there are currently twenty Argentinian schools participating in the competition.
