Judith Stern Peck elected AFBH President
Judith Stern Peck was unanimously elected as the next president of the American Friends of Beit Hatfutsot. Ms. Stern Peck succeeds outgoing president Dr. Cheryl Fishbein who served for four years during a period of great transition for Beit Hatfutsot. Her term began on January 1, 2012.
Ms. Stern Peck is a member of the Board of Governors of Beit Hatfutsot, and chaired the Steering Committee of the hugely successful gala event celebrating the renewal and future of Beit Hatfutsot, that was recently held in New York City.
Ms. Stern Peck has held many leadership positions with Jewish organizations both locally and Internationally She served as chair of the Board at the UJA -Federation of New York and held other key positions at the Federation and JAFI that have included Chair of the Jewish Continuity Commission as well as Founding Chair of "Partnership 2000" – an international program that transforms the Diaspora-Israeli relationship. Ms. Stern Peck has served as President of B'nai Jeshurun, a conservative synagogue on the Upper West Side during its time of renewal. She played a central role on the Capital Campaign Council for the JCC of the Upper Westside and chaired a variety of task forces and committees at the 92nd Street Y. For the past ten years, she has been a major leader in Paideia, The European Institute for Jewish Studies which is dedicated to the revival of Jewish culture in Europe.

Ms. Stern Peck is a graduate of Finch College and The Wurzweiler School of Social Work of Yeshiva University. She did her post-graduate training at the Ackerman Institute where she is presently on faculty and director of a research project on money and family life. She works professionally as a therapist, specializing in issues relating to money and is a sought-after consultant to family businesses and family foundations.
Ms. Stern Peck is also the author of numerous publications including the book: Money and Meaning: New Ways to Have Conversations About Money with Your Clients -- A Guide for Therapists, Coaches, and Other Professionals.
As we move forward with the Renaissance of Beit Hatfutsot, The Museum of the Jewish People, the American Friends of Beit Hatfutsot is honored to have Judith Stern Peck as President.
