Beit Hatfutsot brings Jewish Peoplehood education to Mexico

Senior staff from the International School for Jewish Peoplehood Studies (ISJPS) traveled to Mexico to facilitate a three-day seminar for 60 Jewish educators from around Mexico City. The seminar on Jewish Peoplehood as a paradigm for Israel education received outstanding feedback and marked the continuation of a long-term partnership between the Mexican Jewish Community and ISJPS staff. Director Shelley Kedar, together with Sophy Turkea-Yurman, Director of Program Development and Rabbi Dalia Tibon Lagziell, Director of Professional Development at the ISJPS were invited to Mexico by JAFI Mexico representative Eliyahu Shaul, Head of North Latin America delegation.

The ISJPS has a long standing relationship with all Mexican Jewish schools as they all take part in My Family Story program.

ISJPS staff raised some vital issues for the Mexican Jewish educators particularly the place of Israel in Jewish education of the 21st Century. Topics included Israeli culture and text study, strengthening relationships between Jewish people in Israel and Mexico, and more. The Mexican educators responded with tremendous enthusiasm, and request for duplicating this seminar around the world have been received at ISJPS offices.
