Beit Hatfutsot Celebrates Israel's 64th Anniversary in Los Angeles
Beit Hatfutsot brought color and content to the "Celebrate Israel" Festival held on the occasion of Israel's 64th Anniversary in Rancho Park, Los Angeles. Visitors were welcomed by Beit Hatfutsot of America CEO, Shula Bahat, at the museum's festively decorated open tent. The participants, representing the diversity of the Jewish community, were introduced to The Douglas E. Goldman Jewish Genealogy Center which facilitates searching Beit Hatfutsot’s database containing thousands of genealogies of Jewish families from all over the world and register family trees. With the assistance of volunteers representing the Jewish Genealogical Society of Los Angeles visitors began the journey to explore their Jewish roots and build their own family trees using iPads provided by Beit Hatfutsot.
The Festival was organized by the Israeli Leadership Council and the Beit Hatfutsot tent was made possible by the generosity of festival chairman Naty Saidoff, and his wife Debbie.
