Invest in the Future
The Museum of the Jewish People at Beit Hatfutsot, which has been enacted by Israel’s Law as “The National Center for Jewish communities in Israel and Abroad,” is embarking on a new era.
Steve Forbes, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of Forbes Media and chair of our recent 38th Anniversary Celebration, cited Beit Hatfutsot as “a most relevant, vital and significant global venue that affected and transformed millions of people in Israel and around the world. The story and the experience of a people living among other peoples for millennia, sustaining their identity and core values, contributing magnificently to the general society, in every arena, is most compelling, captivating and powerful in its universal meaning and resonance.”
Since May 2016, when our exquisite and content-rich New Wing opened, we witnessed an increase of more than 50% in the attendance of people of all backgrounds at our Tel Aviv venue, adding to the millions transformed by Beit Hatfutsot, its innovative programs and exhibits since its inception.
Our Renewal is evolving beautifully. Our New Wing includes The Alfred Moses and Family Synagogue Hall, featuring our renowned collection of synagogue models in a brand new interactive environment and The Tamar and Milton Maltz Family Gallery, honoring Heroes-Trailblazers of the Jewish people.
As befitting a cutting-edge enterprise, we are concluding the implementation of a strategic digital initiative fundamental to achieving our noble mission of engaging the broadest audiences with the story of the Jewish people. Through our new website, our assets – including millions of genealogical records and media files (photos, films and music) related to Jewish communities are available online, free of charge, creating a powerful presence. New user platforms will offer one-of-kind experiences positioning The Museum of the Jewish People at Beit Hatfutsot as a unique online destination for all.
While this renewal unfolds, we continue to make a difference every day. Few enterprises have such an impact!
- 2,000 educators and over 35,000 Israeli pupils, especially from the periphery, benefit from Beit Hatfutsot learning experiences; 20,000 students and their families worldwide participate in My Family Story and Curating Your Family Story annually, two flagship innovative programs provided by our Jewish Peoplehood School.
- 5 million records make our Douglas E. Goldman Jewish Genealogy Center one of the largest global Jewish databases.
- 10,000 IDF officers and soldiers attend our identity seminars at Beit Hatfutsot’s venue as well as military outposts.
- 86 million dollars, including significant support from the State of Israel, have been raised toward our Renewal Campaign goal of 100 million dollars.
