International Women’s Club visits Beit Hatfutsot – The Museum of the Jewish People
The International Women’s Club (IWC) recently visited Beit Hatfutsot. This was the third annual visit of the IWC, led by their president Catherine Cornet D’elzius, wife of the Belgian Ambassador, and Ivyhelen Cohen, their Cultural Coordinator, and hosted by Irit Admoni Perlman, Director of External Relations and Enia Zeevi Kupfer Director of the European Desk at Beit Hatfutsot
Dan Tadmor, CEO, welcomed the group and said that he was delighted to have the opportunity, third year in a row, to meet with such a prestigious inetrnational group. “It is most gratifying to be able to welcome you at this exciting time: at the end of May we will be opening the first stage of our major renewal project which will include an impressive Synagogue Hall and new galleries. I am already looking forward to hosting you all again next year in our new state-of-the-art new wing”.
The visit was initiated by the Italian Embassy with the main focus of their visit being the ‘Italian Jewish Renaissance – the Beauty of Italian Judaica’. This exhibition highlights the elegance and harmony that were a characteristic of Italian Jewry culture. The combination of Jewish traditions and Italian aesthetics have created an impressive exhibition. Docents of Beit Hatfutsot shared background and details, offering the group an inside look on the exhibition and the curating process.
