An innovative educational kit that inspires young students to ask, “What does it take to be a hero?” and “Who are my own personal heroes?” while firmly rooted in the context of Jewish identity, meaning and the recurring theme of strength over adversity.

The “Jewish Super-Heroes” workshop inspires young people with epic stories of great Jewish leaders, while presenting Jewish values in a fresh, accessible and exciting way. The objective of the program is that students learn that Jewish heroes teach us Jewish ways of life; providing us with practical knowledge, motivation and a Jewish approach to achievements, struggles, thinking and doing, in a way that is relevant to every person, everywhere, at any time. This program is based on the extraordinary  “Heroes – Trailblazers of the Jewish People” exhibition at Beit Hatfutsot – The Museum of the Jewish People.

The book aims to reflect central issues that Jews deal with and therefore are the basis of Beit Hatfutsot’s activities. Shmuel Rosner has successfully poured Beit Hatfutsot’s vision into this new special work.

Read the first chapter (Hebrew)

We live in an era in which one has to ask: why being Jewish? Why all the effort, the struggle, the arguments? Does the world need the Jews? Do Jews need Judaism? There’s no easy answer.

  • Who are we? What is our Judaism made of?
  • Do we have a role in the world?
  • What values do we promote?
  • How did we survive? Why are we hated?
  • What did we achieve so far? What else are we hoping to achieve?
